Curriculum
We are currently updating and implementing the Northern Irish Curriculum areas of learning, as below.
Language and Literacy, Mathematics and Numeracy, The Arts, The World Around Us (Geography, History, Science), PDMU, RE and Physical Education.
Throughout all these areas we encourage the development of personal capabilities and thinking skills.
We also follow a Preventative Curriculum and implement a restorative practice. We have introduced many strategies in school to promote this. School Council, a House System and HERO reward compliment each other to promote resilience, calm behaviour and a readiness to learn.
Children are also given opportunities to learn from outside bodies during the school day.
These include football coaching (IFA), P.E sessions (Community Sports), Ulster Orchestra for instruments and singing, dance, mentors, reading (EfL) and various church activities.
